Strong ability to community effectively and work with members of the academic and research community. **Employee Class:** F-Faculty **FTE:** 1.0 **Position Overview:** The Associate Dean of Research (ADR) is responsible for the management and promotion of funded research initiatives and is responsible for stimulating new and continued research activity in the School of Engineering. The ability to elevate the research activity in the school is critical to the Associate Dean of Research. This requires excellent leadership and communication skills. The successful candidate must be able to work with both individual and groups of faculty members to help them be successful in their research goals. The ADR reports to and serves at the pleasure of the Dean of Engineering. **Administrative Appointment** The ADR will hold a 60%-time administrative appointment in the School of Engineering, with the remaining 40%appointment in the ADR’s academic department. The percentage appointment may be negotiated.
