Proposals Team Leader
Your role and responsibilitiesIn this role, you will have the opportunity to play a key role in supporting the proposals team by preparing and managing technical and commercial sales proposals. This role requires a blend of technical knowledge, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills. You will be responsible for interpreting customer requirements, coordinating with internal departments, and ensuring that all proposals are accurate, timely, and aligned with company standards. Key responsibilities include managing customer inquiries, developing detailed proposals for process instrumentation, consulting with sales, technical teams, and factories, and maintaining records of all activities in company systems. The Internal Proposals Engineer will also assist with pricing, cost models, and ensuring compliance with corporate governance.The work model for the role is: hybrid from our St Neots location {#LI-hybrid} and contributes to the Measurement and Analytics business in the UK. You will be further be accountable for:•\tInterpreting technical inquiry documents from customers. •\tEngaging in customer discussions to gather necessary information for proposal development. •\tCreating tailored technical and commercial proposals suited to the client, industry, and products. •\tUtilizing ABB’s internal tools to configure product codes and determine pricing. •\tCollaborating with factories, sales teams, service departments, supporting functions, technical teams, and/or third parties as needed. •\tSecuring compliant quotations from ABB and/or third parties. •\tDeveloping accurate cost models for proposals. •\tEnsuring proposals align with internal governance and profitability by understanding the impact of terms, payment conditions, and other commercial elements. •\tUnderstanding and assisting with key documentation control processes in relation to major projects.
Qualifications for the role\tA strong background within the Instrumentation industry within either the water or industrial markets. \tExperience of supporting and selling solutions into end users across various industries including but not limited to Food and Beverage, Utilities & Energy\tExceptional organizational skills. \tOutstanding communication skills. \tConfident using Microsoft Word & Excel. \tGreat attention to detail. \tDemonstrates a proactive approach to tasks. \tExcellent problem-solving skills. \tMulti-tasking abilities. \tPositive work ethic. \tCollaborator. \tAbility to work with minimal supervision. \tAble to work to multiple deadlines whilst working on several proposals / projects. \tComply with corporate governance, regulations, and requirements. \tInterest in Engineering, Sales &/or sales processes. \tInterest in Process Industries including Water, Oil & Gas, Chemical, Food & Beverage, Metals, Cement, Power – desirable \tKnowledge or experience of Instrumentation and/or Process Control - desirable
