Internal Reporting Analyst III
As part of our National Finance & Administration Services department, you’ll help manage the critical resources and infrastructure that keep ALDI running smoothly. Your insights and skills will help every department make smarter decisions and ensure our retail divisions and executive leadership receive the support they need to run a successful operation. Within Finance, our teams include: Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Financial Reporting, Tax and Treasury. In this role, the Internal Reporting Analyst III will be responsible for analyzing division and consolidated company financial results, as well as business partnering with Divisional Vice Presidents and Division Directors. This position will also collaborate and build partnerships across financial and business disciplines. The ideal candidate will have experience in financial analysis, presenting financial data and possess an educational background in Finance. **Position Type:** Full-Time **Work Location:** Naperville, IL This role is eligible to participate in ALDI’s Hybrid Work Program, which allows remote work up to 3 days per week (i.e., work remotely up to 3 days per week; work in-office at least 2 days per week). **Duties and Responsibilities:** Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation. • Communicates and informs leadership of issues, status, and results of assigned tasks in an accurate and timely manner. • Recommends action and provides insight to inform and influence decision making and performance management. • Recommends process improvements for area of responsibility. • Conducts analysis of financial reports to ensure that activities are accurate and available to division business partners in a timely manner. • Initiates the development and presentation of analysis to support divisional VPs and/or executive leadership that includes proactive and insightful analysis and commentary on financial results leading to decisions of significance. • Provides divisional VPs with exception based non-standard reporting as requested to make informed business decisions and manage improvement priorities. • Determines and develops required project deliverables. • Performs special projects as required; employing problem-solving techniques to carry out project deliverables. • Assists leadership in implementation and rollouts of large-scale projects including making recommendations. • Researches and resolves reconciliation variances in financial statements. • Cross-trains other members of the team. • Provides analysis for forward-looking financial and business-related projects. • Creates informative, actionable reporting that highlights relevant business trends and opportunities for improvement. • Identifies improvements to reporting and analysis processes that require investigation, collaboration, and partnership across all business disciplines. • Coordinates completion of ad-hoc analyses with elements of uncertainty or risk and determines next steps. • Interprets policies without guidance where multiple interpretations are possible. • Collaborates with team members and communicates relevant information to leadership. • Upholds the security and confidentiality of documents and data within area of responsibility. • Other duties as assigned. **Job-specific Competencies:** Knowledge/Skills/Abilities • Consistently demonstrates the Mindsets, ALDI Acts Competencies and Professional Skills (M.A.P.) as outlined for the role. • Gives attention to detail and follows instruction. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Effective time management; maximizes productivity. • Prepares written materials to meet purpose and audience. • Develops and maintains positive relationships with internal and external parties. • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. • Proficiency in typing and data entry. • Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures. • Knowledge of the process for recording, classifying, and summarizing financial transaction in accordance with company, statutory, tax, cost, and reporting requirements. • Knowledge of financial analysis strategies. • Ability to reconcile and analyze accounts. **Education and Experience:** • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required. • A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in Accounting or Finance required. • Or, a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge. **Physical Requirements:** • Work may be performed in an office, remote office or a combination of both where a computer and office equipment may be used as needed to perform duties. • Regularly required to sit, reach, grasp, stand and move from one area to another. • Constantly and repeatedly use keyboard/mouse. • Occasionally required to push, pull, bend, lift and move up to 25 lbs. **Travel:** • Domestic travel required. • Up to 5%.
