Job Summary: The Registered Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP-R) is expected to interact with patients and their families in a caring, compassionate, considerate manner and provide care with the highest regards for the patient’s mental, spiritual, and physical well-being. The RCP-R is responsible for providing basic and advanced respiratory care services to various patient populations. The RCP-R performs patient assessments, develops Respiratory Care Plans and then implements and evaluates the effectiveness of the Respiratory Care Plan. The RCP-R is required to deliver respiratory care services to patients in all areas of the hospital and to perform the duties and responsibilities outlined with minimal supervision and independent decision-making skills.
Minimum Requirements: Licensed by the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board as a Respiratory Care Practitioner. Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care. BLS, NRP and ACLS required (or within six months of employment). Previous clinical experience. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and posses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department’s policies and procedures.
*THIS POSITION IS FOR A 13-WEEK CONTRACT ASSIGNMENT*
Salary will be $65.00 per hour plus applicable shift differential Contract employees will be assigned to specific divisions. To qualify, candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in that specialty area. 36 hours per week/72 hours per pay period 12-hour shifts or unit designated work hours Scheduled based on the needs of the unit This position is temporary and not eligible for benefits Hired for a 13-week contract not to exceed 26 weeks
