International BSC Head of Accounting
Purpose of the role
The Heidelberg Materials (HM) International Business Service Centre (BSC) provides administrative, transactional and accounting services to in-scope HM companies.
The BSC Finance Graduate Trainee team will rotate through a minimum of three placements spending at least 6 months in each role. The trainees will also undertake CIMA training during this period.
Key accountabilities

Transaction Processing
Work placement
Become a fully productive team member in a transaction processing department.Accurately delivering high volumes of work utilising given processesDeliver good quality responses to queries, and provide excellent customer serviceProject

Work placement
Working in the BSC reporting team, refresh and maintain existing reporting suite accurately and within agreed schedules.Adjust and develop existing reports to better suit business needs as required, and work with project teams to build any new reports required.Project
Utilising BSC reporting, KPIs and data mining tools, analyse a given business problem use available data to propose solutions.Learning objectives

Work placement
Work with the International BSC Senior Finance Manager to prepare BSC related accounts, including preparation of accruals and other journals.Assist with planning and forecasting activities.Prepare commentary and present results to BSC directors.Learning objectives
P&L and Balance Sheet posting and review.Preparation of content and presentation of data for senior leadership audienceOther potential placements will include the following:

Degree (or predicted) 2:1 Finance & Accounting (or other numeracy related degree). the trainees will undertake CIMA training alongside the role.
