International Credit Portfolio Manager-London

Responsible for researching and analyzing pertinent financial and legal details as part of evaluating a client or prospect's suitability and creditworthiness for existing and prospective International Custody, and Global Fund Services credit products. 

Prepares written credit approval requests and presents them verbally to credit approval committees. 

Key activities include the provision of relationship management, administrative, analytical, and sales assistance in support of the International/Global Fund Services credit portfolio and incidental custody credit risks.

Major Duties:  

                

Credit Portfolio Management

Responsible for credit and risk management aspects of assigned relationships under the direction of the Senior Banker: demonstrating a high degree of understanding of the credit and operating risks associated with the totality of the client relationship; assists with structuring arrangements to mitigate significant/manageable risks while satisfying client needs.Researches and analyzes financial information to evaluate a borrower's creditworthiness.  Prepares and presents new credit requests and credit renewals for approval, under the direction of the SR Banker, for assigned credit relationships. Credit requests are to be managed such that (1) all facilities are analyzed/reviewed and brought to credit committee at least annually; (2) all Watch List credits are reviewed at least quarterly; and (3) all credit requests are completed in a timely manner and distributed to credit committee at least two days before the committee meets.Coordinate preparation and execution of appropriate legal documentation supporting credit approvals.  Review legal documents to ensure terms match credit approvals and the bank is adequately protected. Monitor clients and portfolios for changes in risk ensuring that loan quality/credit risk adheres to guidelines and risk positions are reported to management as appropriate. Provide daily monitoring, follow-up and periodic risk reporting related to high risk credit and custody clients, including incidental custody credit exposures (Contractual Settlement/Foreign Exchange). Where applicable, understand and track the composition of each syndicated credit bank group and the services provided by each bank.Facilitate periodic updates of client credit quality to Credit Risk as requested (Union League and Watch List credit reviews).Complete new/existing client risk assessments as required.Maintain organized, current credit files for assigned clients. 

Credit Administration

Work with appropriate bank personnel to accurately book and maintain credit exposures in the bank’s internal risk management and accounting systems. Provide administrative and database support for tracking and maintaining client data/limits.Provide backup for daily credit administration functions and support for management reporting of risk positions.  Document associated procedures and update same as needed.Communicate effectively and efficiently with members of the relationship management and Corporate & Institutional Services Risk Management teams regarding key relationship issues to meet client satisfaction goals in support of overall strategic management of each relationship.  Ensure revenue recognized from loan advances and committed facilities accurately reflects negotiated loan arrangements.  Ensure no past due fees exceeding 90 days from invoice date and no loan documentation deficiencies exceeding 90 days.  Understand internal profitability of each relationship, and ensure proper tracking of internal business metrics.

Presentations

Makes written and verbal presentations of credit requests and client/portfolio details to credit approval committees. Presentation content is to be clear and relevant; delivery is confident, knowledgeable and conversational in tone. Honestly and thoughtfully responds to questions with follow-up completed on open issues within two business days.  Reviews, presentations, analyses, and monitoring are to reflect a risk-based approach to credit.

Teamwork

Proactively seek out internal partners that share joint clients to facilitate information sharing and customer service quality.Coach less-experienced co-workers and trainees.Support new product and new market entry initiatives.Attend relevant training courses, staff updates, division and team meetings.Support risk mitigation strategies for higher risk global custody clients and other strategic development needs arising from business development efforts within the Global Fund Services business.Support department and risk management goals.

Knowledge/Skills:

Experience Required:     

Prior banking/financial analysis experienceBachelor’s degree with finance and or accounting course work preferredStrong demonstrated analytical skillsCredit training preferredFamiliarity with collective investment schemes and foreign exchange
