JOB SCOPE:

 

For this newly created role we are looking for a lawyer with environmental sustainability experience to drive legal assessment of new sustainability laws/regulations/litigation in the world (e.g. CS3D, batteries, circularity, deforestation, etc.), with a focus on EU, US and Australia, and determine the impact to EssilorLuxottica business and operations.

 

RESPONSIBILITES:

       

Building legal intelligence around sustainability laws and regulations worldwide. Supporting the Chief Sustainability Officer in interpreting regulatory requirements and advising on regulatory compliance strategies. Driving coordinated horizontal legal support for the Chief Sustainability Officer, Legal Affairs, Internal Audit, Compliance, Chief Operating Officer, the Product & Operations sustainability function and the Risk management department. Trainings: implementing adequate trainings and controls to ensure compliance with new sustainability laws and regulations. Developing and executing legal sustainability risk training and awareness program. Legal advice/ guidance on the due diligence activities and participation/ support to due diligence. Supporting the Group General Counsel, the Corporate Sustainability Officer and the Head of Compliance in identifying and actioning lobbying opportunities on sustainability.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

 

Educational Legal Diploma At least 5 years of experience in Environmental Sustainability European experience with sustainability laws/regulations/litigation. Fluent in English Strong problem solving skills Hands on and ability to self-learn Autonomous, Dynamic Able to deal with complexity and ambiguity
