International Trade Specialist (Consultant)

Description

ICF is looking for an International Trade Specialist (Consultant) to support ICF’s work with the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) Office of Child Labor, Forced Labor and Human Trafficking (OCFT). The specialist will conduct research and provide technical input for the ICF research team to identify, review, and analyze U.S. and international trade data specific to ICF meet research project objectives.  The international trade research specialist will need to leverage analysis of trade data with open-source research and original qualitative research to map the international trade of goods deemed to be at risk of being produced with forced or child labor.

The consultancy requires the ability to follow detailed instructions and produce accurate results, often on a quick turnaround basis; the ability to conduct work in a professional and courteous manner; the ability to work efficiently and effectively as part of a team and to be self-motivated; and excellent English writing skills

Key Responsibilities:

Identify production and international trade data on select products and independently analyze quantitative trade findings given limitations of data sourcesExplore various strategies and methodologies to document the international trade of goods through downstream marketsConduct key informant interviews related to the supply chain of focal goodsContribute to reports including developing qualitative and quantitative findings related to forced labor in supply chains of selected goods and producing tables and graphs

Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree in public policy, international development, international trade, business administration, international business, political science, or economics10+ years of experience working on international trade and/or international economic issues5 + years of experience working with trade and tariff databases5+ years’ experience related to international labor, child labor, and forced labor in global supply chains5+ years’ experience writing reports related to international trade issues for U.S. Government agenciesAdvanced fluency in written and verbal English

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

Foreign language skills in Spanish, French, Portuguese, or ChineseAdvanced quantitative analysis skillsQualitative research experience

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$73,403.00 - $124,784.00
