Job Description

Children's Healthcare of Atlanta is hiring an IoT Engineer to join our permanent team! This position requires a broad skillset and may participate in multiple roles regarding the technology, Internet of Things (IoT) and the supporting platforms and infrastructures. The IoT engineer will partner with various departments and roles business partners for building requirements and enterprise architecture to design, and operations to implement and support the organizations IoT solutions which includes and not limited to network, security, device management and core compute and infrastructure underlying technologies.

EDUCATION

High School diploma required or equivalent

CERTIFICATION SUMMARY

Cisco CCNA – Cisco Certified Network Associate (Route & Switching) or Network Plus

Certified Wireless Network Professional (CWNP)

Obtain certifications as applicable to the position

EXPERIENCE

5 years of relevant technical experience in system/server administration and/or network IT operations. 

3 years related experience in managing and deploying various operating systems such as Windows, Linux server OS’s, OS browsers, IOS, and Android platforms etc. including the abilities to create scripts and automate common tasks

3 years of experience in RF, UHF, BLE, RFID communications and IoT architectures and principles

2 years with security frameworks (NIST, HIPPA, PCI etc.)

General knowledge of Software Development Lifecycles (SDLC)

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Defines, builds, implements and manages the vulnerability and patch management program for IoT devices/systems security hardening and follows/performs network segmentation requirements for these associated devices/systems.  This effort may follow a shared and joint reporting structure.  Monthly reporting and tracking requirements are required.

Build, deploys, and manages a full life cycle IoT asset management program.

Demonstrates expertise and knowledge of sensors, device firmware, hardware and supporting system operating systems.  This encompasses a working experience with front-end and back-end systems (full stack understanding).

Performance focused, maintains, designs, and develops highly available and distributed systems that support healthcare medical grade and zero inaccessibility solutions. Encompassing building and maintaining technical infrastructure diagrams, including device and application data flows for an end to end workflow and reference documentation (as builds etc.).

Knowledgeable of web and mobile application frameworks for analytics and monitoring and management of devices.

Assists RTLS and Wireless engineers in solutions architecting, and problem solutioning and troubleshooting.

Collaborates and interacts with business partners and stakeholders in requirements gathering, solutioning and troubleshooting.

Evaluate technologies across departments with an overall organization strategy with a broad perspective for solutions design and architecture.  Collaborating with end users (clinical, physician, leadership etc.) to obtain requirements for optimal solutioning.

Assists wireless and RTLS engineers in activities utilizing debugging wireless sniffers, protocol analyzers to debug and root cause issues (Ekahau, WireShark, Protocol Analysis, etc.).

Able to implement IoT cloud computing solutions not limited to experience with Azure, AWS etc.

SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES

Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system. 


Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
