Our Human Resources team:

Baird’s Human Resources team is dedicated to attracting, developing, engaging and retaining the best global talent to meet the firm’s mission of being a best place to work. We look for highly motivated and detail-oriented individuals who are proactive, eager to learn and ready to contribute. We are seeking interns in a variety of teams within HR, including HR Operations, Talent Acquisition and Talent Development.

Internship Location, Availability and Hours:
Located in our downtown Milwaukee office, the interns must be able to work part-time during the school semesters, 15-20 hours per week, and full time during the summer, 37.5-40 hours per week. We are seeking local students who can start in May 2025.

As a Human Resources Intern, you will:

HR Operations:

Provide superior client service to all Baird associates related to employment policies, benefits, compensation, reimbursements, training & development, recruiting and technology via phone and Case Management in Workday

Manage required onboarding tasks and processes for new associates

Maintain employment files and input data into HR information systems

Review and take action on reporting activities to ensure data accuracy and process completion

Talent Acquisition:

Perform high-volume interview scheduling for phone, video and onsite interviews

Update and manage candidate information and interview status in Workday, our Applicant Tracking System

Draft and proof offer letters ensuring consistency and accuracy

Support process improvements and projects for Talent Acquisition and across HR

Deliver unparalleled customer service to hiring managers and interview teams, while ensuring prospective candidates have a great experience with Baird

Assist in the coordination of other recruiting activities, including administrative duties and special projects as needed

Talent Development:

Provide coordination and support for firmwide programming including invitations, registration, material preparation, logistics, classroom scheduling and setup and evaluation

Collect and consolidate learning content, curating for a library of resources in support of Workday, our Learning Management System

Research potential new program content to obtain relevant articles and videos in support of learning concepts

Analyze and research training, coaching, development and other HR topics

Assist in design work including infographic design, brochures, flyers and other communication materials in Word, PowerPoint and other graphic design software

Review online course content, testing functionality and tracking edits in partnership with program designers

Create and deliver presentations at Talent Development team meetings

What we look for:

Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications or related degree. Targeting May 2026 or later graduation dates

Strong writing, communication and customer services skills

Exceptional organizational/time management skills and attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities at one time and meet all deadlines

A highly motivated, strategic and analytical thinker who takes initiative to learn and contribute to the team

Ability to work within a team and on a self-directed basis

Proficient in Microsoft Office products, specifically with Excel, Microsoft Teams and SharePoint

Prior experience in an office setting preferred
