Job Summary (includes but is not limited to the following, other duties may be assigned)
We are looking for a highly motivated Data Engineer Intern to join our team and assist in building and maintaining data solutions using Microsoft technologies. As an intern, you will work closely with senior data engineers to learn the best practices for data integration, ETL processes, and database management. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience with the Microsoft data ecosystem, including Azure, SQL Server, and Power BI.
Job Responsibilities
Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines using Microsoft Azure Data Factory, SQL Server, and other Microsoft tools. Support the integration of data from multiple sources (structured and unstructured) into data warehouses and other storage solutions. Work with senior data engineers to create, optimize, and maintain ETL processes. Help in building and managing data models for reporting and analytics. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business data requirements and provide appropriate data solutions. Assist in troubleshooting and resolving data-related issues and performance bottlenecks. Document processes, workflows, and data models to support knowledge sharing and future reference. Stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in data engineering and Microsoft technologies.Job Requirements
Currently enrolled at an accredited college or university, working towards Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, preferred. Rising Junior or Senior, completion of at least 30 hours. Minimum GPA 3.0 Legally eligible to work in the United States now and in the future for any company. Excellent communication, problem solving, and analytical skills Must be flexible and able to work harmoniously with others Good organization skills and attention to details are essential Strong foundational knowledge in object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms Experience with Scripts, Powershell, Batch, VB, and Java Good to have not required: Familiarity with UI, SQL, HTML, and CSS Good to have not required: PowerBi and ServiceNow experience Good to have not required: Microsoft SQL Server BI Stack, SSRS, TSQL, Power Query, MDX, PowerBI, and DAXPreferred Qualifications
Familiarity with cloud-based data solutions, especially Microsoft Azure / Fabrics (Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, etc.), is a plus. Experience with or knowledge of ETL processes, data warehousing, or data modeling. Exposure to programming or scripting languages like Python, PowerShell, or .NET.
