Internship (Clarkson University Students) Department:Construction Engineering Location:Syracuse , NY C2AE, www.c2ae.com , is a New York and Michigan based architecture and engineering firm, which has a growing team made up of technical and creative people who love design. Our team is full-service, able to deliver the complete architecture, infrastructure, and engineering package, and specializes in the markets of education, government, and manufacturing. C2AE is partnering with Clarkson Construction Engineering Management (CEM) Consulting Group, Clarkson Construction Engineering Management Consulting Grou (C3G) (google.com) , to hire a temporary student intern who is ready to use their efforts to fulfill their professional experience requirement for graduation in addition to receiving compensation for their work efforts. The project(s) this temporary student intern will work on will result in deliverables with guidance and leadership by the staff and faculty. Position Description: C2AE and Clarkson CEM Consulting Group (C3G), Clarkson University, is looking for a temporary student intern to assist with work in the areas of GIS, data collection and analysis, building operations, pre- professional engineering studies, construction estimation, project scheduling, and other efforts contracted by C2AE and C3G. This intern will work part-time during Spring and Fall semesters, and full-time during summer periods to assist in C2AE and C3G-s efforts. This effort will give the collegiate-level student a hands- on, real world pre-professional experience as well as considerable exposure to construction and design efforts in our neighboring communities. Technical Qualifications: - Currently enrolled as a student at Clarkson University: o Architectural and Facilities Engineering o Civil Engineering (Structural, Architectural, CEM, and Water Resources Concentrations) o Environmental Engineering o Mechanical Engineering o Electrical Engineering o Environmental Science and Engineering o Architecture or Architectural Engineering - Have working knowledge of the following software programs: o Infraworks o GIS (ArcGIS, Cartograph, etc.) o AutoCAD o BIM (Autodesk Revit) - Have some working knowledge of how to use survey a GPS device or application and do field location and verification. - Undergraduate students applying will be given preference over any graduate applicants. Physical Qualifications: - The ability to lift 20 pounds occassionally - The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces. - The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations. - The ability to safely climb ladders while carrying pounds. - The ability to work in extreme weather. - The ability to wear personal protective gear. Upload a Professional Resume Compensation/Hours Worked/Length of Appointment: The selected temporary student intern will work 6-8 hours/week on average during the semester and full time during the summer break period as directed by C2AE. The Intern will be paid $16.50 an hour. The selected student intern will serve until the conclusion of the semester/summer period appointed and will be evaluated for continuation at that time. After the initial semester/summer period, and at the end of each successive semester or summer break period thereafter, appointments will continue on an ongoing basis so long as each end of period evaluation indicates they should continue as a part of C2AE.
