Internship - Cymer Field Operations - Operational Improvement

Introduction to the Job

As part of the Cymer team at ASML you will be part of a team of engineers who help our organization install, repair and maintain Cymer laser equipment at customer sites. You ensure that our systems work as they should – and be part of the technology innovation that’s moving the world forward. You’ll be a technical expert who will work with coworkers, customer & field support in isolating and solving problems to maintain and optimize equipment on a daily basis enhancing functionality and prevent problems. You will act as a resource for users on routine malfunctions and will be responsible for the necessary transfer of know-how to the customer.

Role and Responsibilities

Responsibilities

Implement a Poke Yoke to reduce module interconnection error opportunities at deinstallation / reinstallation of same module.

Learn and Understand the Poke Yoke Process.

Observe Cymer Laser Models in the factory and NAO Field Locations.

Document and provide analysis in the factory and at field sites on module connection and potential POKE YOKE implementation opportunities.

Review and analyze Field Service onsite way of working.

Review current proposed engineering solutions.

Propose a practical strategy that may be implemented in the field.

With local resources on the laser frames.

Without modification to fit or function.

Aligned with OPPD for guidance on future module redesigns to align with laser frame implemented solution.

Identify implementation options.

Draft guidance on installation.

Education and Experience

Pursuing a Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with a graduation date between December 2025 and June 2026.

Knowledgeable in MS Office applications - Excel, OneNote, Teams, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities:

Routinely required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch.

Occasionally required to move around the campus.

Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

May require travel dependent on business needs.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
