Internship in Component Engineer (12 months)

In this role, you will provide engineering support services on a multidisciplinary engineering team developing and sustaining medical imaging equipment.

You will be expected to review, compare and make engineering changes and lifecycle changes to a range of electromechanical components used in Hologic products.  Strong attention to detail, clear communication, the ability to collaborate with others, and being a self-starter are a must.­

Throughout the 12 months, you'll have the opportunity to participate in the following:

Mechanical and Electrical component comparison Mechanical and Electrical component database management Component change orders and lifecycle change management Material regulation assessment (REACH, RoHS) Part database improvement and management Other tasks as assigned to assist the engineering team

We're looking for bright, inquisitive problem solvers who strive to make a difference. Key qualifications include the following:

Able to work up to full-time (40 hours per week) from January 2025 – December 2025 Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program and have at least one semester remaining to complete after the Internship. Majoring in a Technical Field, such as Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Data Analysis preferred, and others considered Rising Junior, Rising Senior Preferred Cumulative GPA of 3.2/4.0 Fluent in English at the B2/C1 level A motivated and self-directed student with strong attention to detail Knowledge and familiarity of component specifications and/or datasheets Communicate and collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary team members Ability to work onsite at our El Coyol, Alajuela Costa Rica campus. Student housing, relocation, and housing stipends are not provided
