Knowledge@BCG consists of the Knowledge Team (KT), Data & Research Services (DRS) and Knowledge & Collaboration Solution (KCS). KT is a group of experts within respective fields or areas providing industry, functional and geographic expertise to consulting teams. KT members are aligned to Practice Areas, sometimes serving as members of case or project teams. KT offers insight into a topic or function derived from BCG's knowledge base and case/project experience. The members of our DRS team work alongside consulting team colleagues to bring advanced research capabilities to support projects and clients. KCS team is a cross-functional team equipping BCGers with internal and external knowledge resources and digital collaboration tools, enabling them to work smarter and with increased productivity.
What You'll Do
We are looking for an intern available to work full-time (40 hours/week) for 6 months. We are seeking a strong candidate to support the Knowledge and Consulting Teams to elaborate first class solutions for their clients. In this role you will assist the Renewable Energy & Power Markets analysts and experts in international assignments on a variety of topics including renewable energy, power generation, power markets and regulation.
More specifically, your tasks and responsibilities include:
Assistance to the Renewable Energy & Power Markets Knowledge Team in a variety of ad-hoc requests from international power and utilities clients and consulting team (incl. research, analyses, preparation of presentations)Contribution to the development of power market tools by conducting modelling and analysis and collaboration with cross-functional teams to define assumptions, set parameters, and develop scenarios that drive successful project outcomesOwnership of comprehensive research and analysis of a variety of topicsEnhancement and maintenance of internal data models and benchmarking toolsSupport the internal processes of knowledge capture and curationSupport of internal projects and activities like database maintenance, newsletter process support, and filing of documentsContribution to an intense and fun work environment in a small, young, diverse, and dynamic group that truly values teamworkWhat You'll Bring
Bachelor's or Master's studies with high academic achievements – preferably in engineering, business or (energy) economicsDeep interest in the energy sector and personal drive and enthusiasm to learn more about power markets, generation and renewable energyFirst practical experience through internships or working student positions are advantageousStrong Excel, Power BI/Tableau, and PowerPoint capabilities, Python knowledge is advantageousExcellent analytical & problem-solving skillsStrong interpersonal credibility, reliability, and service mentalityExcellent written and verbal communication skills in English, additional German language skills are advantageousWho You'll Work With
Our business management and operations team members work to ensure that BCG is running smoothly, efficiently, and productively. We are made up of executive and administrative (or case team) assistants, visual service artists, receptionists, facilities staff, and the team leaders and office coordinators who manage these operations and business management jobs.
