This position reports into the Lead Engineer of the Sustaining Projects team in Calgary and is responsible for providing project management support for a broad range of small and medium sized projects, for a 16 Month Internship starting in May 2024 located in Calgary. Occasional travel to field locations will be required.

This role will interact with internal and external parties at all levels, and is expected to consistently apply exceptional interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills. Having a customer service approach and setting priorities on a day-to-day and long-term basis are essential functions to satisfying the primary requirements of this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Take on a role as project engineer supporting other project managers as assigned, through the project lifecycle from scoping/planning to execution and close-out Manage budget, schedule and scope for all assigned projects, with support from the Lead Engineer and project manager as needed Support additional project execution activities including planning, scheduling, execution, cost tracking, and forecasting. For all assigned projects, act as the point of contact for Operations, Construction, Technical Resources, Supply Chain, Health and Safety, and other internal groups. Support the management of the Sustaining Projects portfolio through scheduling and forecasting project support resources Effectively oversee vendors and contractors, ensuring their work aligns with the defined project scope of work

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

Currently enrolled in an Undergraduate degree in Engineering with and internship or coop program; Mechanical or Chemical is preferred Experienced or knowledge in Microsoft Office 365 Apps. (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point, and Teams) Well-developed interpersonal, communication and organizational skills Flexibility, initiative, resourcefulness, and the ability to work as an effective team member Excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to prioritize conflicting demands, and the ability to present information to field operations and company management in a simple and concise manner A strong commitment to Health & Safety and a culture of caring
