Job Description:
Overview
As a member of a survey crew, this internship provides support for the successful completion of projects under the direction of the Party Chief and Instrument Operator.
Responsibilities
Assist members of the assigned survey crew with various job duties such as clearing brush; carry rod from point to point for staking; set up back site with tripod and prism as well as packing and unpacking survey equipment and supplies in trucks for daily job duties.
These job duties and others work to accomplish the successful completion of a project within the established guidelines set forth by Survey Department Manager.
Qualifications
Pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Surveying, Geospatial or Civil Engineering.
Ability to effectively communicate with all level of employees within an organization, both verbal and written.
Ability to follow directions from supervisor as well as other members of engineering staff and management team.
Ability to identify and use various types of survey equipment.
Ability to work continually outside in all types of weather conditions and terrain.
Ability to carry and lift up to 35 lbs. on a consistent basis- daily task includes carrying various types of survey equipment such as tripod, prism, rod; hand and power tools and buckets with supplies.
Must be able to work between the hours of 6 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday; occasional overtime.
Must be reliable and dependable.
