Roche Capital Investment and Real Estate department is responsible for providing an efficient, effective, sustainable and inspiring working environment for 35,000 employees of Roche Diagnostics globally. Corporate Architecture, focused on architecture and design of the projects of the Diagnostics division, from a corporate identity and design quality perspective.
Environmental Sustainability, specifically working with the Global Lead for Sustainable Construction.

The opportunity:This internship position supports key global initiatives in the field of architecture and sustainable construction.
The focus will be on advancing the adoption of sustainable construction practices, specially the assessment of the Environmental Impact of Building Projects throughout the Life Cycle.
The main purpose will be to develop a business-case to drive the life cycle assessment of the embodied carbon for building-projects, as a planning and optimization tool. Based on current research and Roche Key Studies available, the value, benefits and impacts on the planning process should be defined.
Support key global initiatives in the field of architecture and sustainable construction.
Focus on advancing the adoption of sustainable construction practices.
Assess the Environmental Impact of Building Projects throughout the Life Cycle.
Develop a business case to drive the life cycle assessment of embodied carbon for building projects.
Use life cycle assessment as a planning and optimization tool.
Define the value, benefits, and impacts on the planning process based on current research and Roche Key Studies available.
Who you are:You are currently enrolled at university as a Master student (studying Architecture, Interior design, Civil engineering or a similar degree). Alternatively, you finished your Master studies within the last 12 months prior to the start date.
You are truly passionate about sustainability and have a good understanding around the impact sustainable construction has and the need for change.
You have some experience around research on the fields of social sustainability and/ or environmental sustainability
You have the ability to understand complex relationships and present them in a simplified way moreover, you are not afraid to work in a global, complex, multidisciplinary environment
You are proficient in English and not afraid of talking to international clients. German is an advantage
This position is suitable for writing a Master thesis.
Due to regulations Non-EU/EFTA citizens must provide a certificate from the university stating that an internship is mandatory as part of the application documents. Furthermore, they need to be enrolled during the entire duration of the internship.
