Team Overview:
Baird’s Department (“Ops”) is the best kept secret in the financial services industry and plays a critical role to the success and growth or the firm. The Trading Operations team supports and settles institutional trades for the Institutional Equity and Fixed Income Capital business units.
Internship Location, Availability and Hours:
Located in our downtown Milwaukee office, the intern must be able to work onsite part-time during the school semesters, 15-20 hours per week, and full time during the summer, 37.5-40 hours per week. We are looking for a student who can start as soon as possible. Start date is flexible.
As a Trading Operations Intern you will:
Open new accounts and maintain existing onesBook pending trades in a timely and accurate mannerObtain necessary client documents from Fixed Income counterparties to ensure compliance and record-keepingMonitor outstanding balances and coordinate settlement processes to ensure timely and accurate completionRun, review, and distribute various financial reports to relevant stakeholdersComplete ad-hoc projects related to account managementWhat we look for:
Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or related field of studyAnticipated graduation date of May 2026 or laterStrong communication abilities to interact with both external and internal clients professionallyExcellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workload effectivelyStrong analytical skills with a focus on detail and accuracyAbility to collaborate effectively within a teamWhat makes this opportunity great:
