The APP plays a key role in delivering high-quality patient care by collaborating with Interventional Radiologists to assess, diagnose, and manage patients undergoing minimally invasive procedures. The APP preforms pre- and post-procedure evaluations, provides patient education, and ensures continuity of care throughout the patient’s treatment journey. This role requires a strong collaborative approach with the healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes, maintain safety, and enhance the patient experience. The APP is essential in advancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the Interventional Radiology department.
Duties & Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUCTIONS:Provides patient care as a member of an interdisciplinary team, collaborating with specialists in the Interventional Radiology as well as diagnostic radiology divisions.Performs inpatient consultations and outpatient clinic visits. Formulates treatment plans for medical conditions within scope of practice.Performs minor interventional procedures within scope of practice.Assists in interventional radiology procedures.Prescribes oral and IV medications when appropriate, within the scope of practice.Documents patient care in accordance with medical staff rules.ADDITOINAL JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Provider will possess the ability to work both as a member of a team as well as autonomously. Work will be coordinated with another APP and will support multiple radiologists.Serve mentor to incoming APPs, residents, and fellows.Additional duties as delegated by Supervising Physician.Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Advanced Nurse Practitioner program.Active Illinois medical license and certification by the appropriate accreditation body.Active BLS and ACLS.Minimum Experience:
Preferred: 2 years of previous job-related experience
