Responsibilities
This position provides assistance to the Interventional Radiologist during radiographic interventional procedures and contributes to the operations of the Interventional Radiology department within the boundaries set by the standards of the profession and State and Federal regulations.
Provide patient care to include pre-, peri- and post-interventional procedures.Order supplies; maintain satisfactory inventory levels; manage the production of high quality images; participate in the education of Radiological Technologist students; assist in the orientation of new-hires; and contribute to quality assurance measures.Qualifications
This position requires graduation from a hospital-based or college-based radiology program, Washington State Certification for Radiologic Technologist and a certificate from the American Registry of Radiological Technology (ARRT) as well as current registration with ARRT. This position also requires current certification in Vascular Interventional Radiology or successful completion of certification within one year of hire; and current CPR validation. Completion of 24 Category "A" continuing education (CE) within a two year period is also required.
This position requires critical thinking skills; quality assurance assessment skills; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; the ability to work with highly technical equipment; extensive product knowledge; a thorough understanding of sterile technique; and the ability to achieve hemostasis following the removal of arterial/venous catheters.
Preferred qualifications are one year of experience in Interventional Radiology and/or a minimum two years of experience in Diagnostic Radiology. Preference will be given to applicants who hold national certification in any advanced Radiological modality.
