Interventional Radiology Technologist – Diagnostic Imaging Department
Part-time with Benefits- 8 hour days M/W/F 8A-4:30P (With No On-Call Requirements!)
With anticipated transition to Full-Time hours in 5-6 months M-F (80 hours)
$5000 Bonus
Position Purpose:
Performs all Diagnostic Imaging procedures including routine, portable, fluoroscopic, and c-arm studies.Assists physicians with performing a variety of Interventional radiology procedures.Will write pertinent patient information of the Imaging Requisition as to reason for examination.Assists with maintaining inventory and ordering of supplies as needed.Essential Functions:
Performs all medical imaging studies, both within the department and portable exams. Solicit pertinent information ie: possibility of pregnancy from females of childbearing years, according to policy. Performs various activities to prepare the patient and procedure room for radiology procedures as regulated by the guidelines and policies Identifies and obtains required supplies for specific procedures as needed.Documents necessary information from interviewing and following all studies ensuring dates and patient education following studies is charted directly on the appropriate forms. Checks equipment and supplies on a regular basis. Sets up/restocks procedure rooms and procedure trays where needed. Maintains and cleans equipment pre and post procedural, reports any equipment malfunctions to supervisor upon realizing a problem exists. Will contact 3rd party vendor independently if supervisor is not available. Explains to patient what they are doing during preparation of patient, answers any concerns or assists patient to obtain information they might need for their procedure.Assists with setting up patient with positioning, shaving, and prepping.Acts as scrub assistant to Physician with maintaining sterile technique while working C-arm or Ultrasound equipment as regulated by state and federal regulations.Ensures effective communication with team, physicians, and coordinating nursing units.Assists in training and orienting new employees on the equipment and procedural supplies usage.Ensures charges for procedures and supplies are applied as appropriate for each patient.Assists with maintaining environmental integrity and aesthetics by assisting with disposal of hazardous waste material.Transports patients as needed or requested. Assists with Interventional Radiology Technologist Lead as directed.Maintains certificate and competencies related to job and IEMA.Other duties as assigned.General Job requirements:
Successful completion of a 2-year school in radiologic technologyCompetency of Sterile Technique in an OR setting.Experience with special procedures and utilizing a C-Arm and Ultrasound equipment.Ability to interact with patients and family membersBLS/CPR Card RequiredCurrent IEMA License required, ARRT Certification preferredPay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $50.00/hr.
