UPMC Presbyterian is hiring a Full-Time Interventional Technologist/Interventional Technologist Advanced for the Neuro Interventional department! The schedule will consist of 4 (10) hour daylight shifts with rotating on-call and weekend/holiday responsibilities. Final candidates will be selected for a job title within the career ladder that reflects level of education, experience, and manager discretion at the time of offer. Interventional Technologist starting rate: $29.19/hour. Interventional Technologist Advanced starting rate: $31.22/hour. Interventional Tech Responsibilities: + Administers contrast and prepare medications under the direction of the proceduralist. + Demonstrate proper positioning and appropriate radiographic techniques for all interventional procedures. + Exhibits a clear understanding of correct patient preparation, equipment operations and patient monitoring systems. + Identifies all patients properly by using two patient identifiers and utilizes universal protocol when performing procedures. + Reviews patient history and assesses physician orders, applying specific departmental protocols for optimal results in the acquisition of data. + Documents patient history in electronic record as required. + Fosters an environment that supports aseptic technique during procedures and patient safety with the incorporation of a time-out process. + Demonstrates the ability to communicate instructions to patients in a clear and concise manner and explain procedures to help allay the patient's fears and solicit their cooperation. + Ensures all exams within his/her area of responsibility are properly coded and tracked through RIS system, all exams are properly networked to ISITE for archiving and interpretation, and all charges are adequately entered for the exams performed. + Demonstrates a strong ability to interact with both patients and co-workers, while displaying a high level of caring, listening, dignity and respect. + Able to work as team member within the department and all other departments to expedite patient care efficiently. + Support other departments performing general radiographic procedures, if needed. Interventional Tech Adv Responsibilities: + Assist with the training of staff and student technologists. + Works directly with Radiologists regarding protocol development. + Performs all job responsibilities of an IR Tech 1. + Demonstrates advanced level of knowledge in supplies and the use of the supplies during procedures. + Performs or assists Clinical Specialist in performing QA, regulatory testing, and other technical and research initiatives. + Assist with Fluoro time monitoring, the management of medical editing request, and annual lead apron compliance checks. + Participates in standardization activities with system-level workgroups. + Demonstrates the ability to function independently, and is able to cover off shifts, on-call responsibilities, and perform services at satellite facilities, where applicable, while continually communicating with lead and management team. Interventional Technologist: + Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology. **Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:** + ARRT certified as a Radiologic Technologist. + CPR or BLS Required. + CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire. + ARRT Certificate + Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Interventional Technologist Advanced: + Graduate of an approved AMA School of Radiologic technology. + Minimum of 2 years IR experience required. + Secondary registration in VI required or equivalent. + Must have obtained a performance review rating of strong/solid/good on most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion. **Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:** + ARRT certified as a Radiologic Technologist. + Secondary registration in VI required or equivalent. + CPR or BLS Required. + CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire. + ARRT Certificate + Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) **UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran**
