JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for performing special interventional diagnostic and therapeutic examinations under the direction of a licensed physician using radiologic imaging for guiding the procedure.  

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Prepare for Procedures: Review procedure orders, gather necessary materials and supplies, ensure equipment is in proper working condition, and set up the procedure room.Perform Procedures: Utilize C-arms, fluoroscopy, and tomography to perform exams and procedures, obtaining a record of data for interpretation by the provider.Patient Care: Provide patient care for all age groups during exams and procedures, assist with transfers, and act as a liaison between the patient and physician.Technical Expertise:Employ techniques and procedures per protocol and devices to ensure consistent results, including wire, catheter, balloon management, ablations, implantations, coilings, and procedures done outside the lab (CT, biopsies, aspirations, etc.).Assist Physician: Assist the physician during procedures, utilizing sterile technique according to established policies and procedures and state/federal regulations.Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records by documenting pertinent information in the electronic medical record, hemodynamic monitoring system, and Radiation Information Systems (RIS).Emergency Response Respond to emergency situations consistent with scope of practice.
Qualifications
Education/Work Experience Requirements

Graduation from an accredited school of Radiological Technology, Interventional Radiology or Special Procedures Technologist (or equivalent).

Licensure/CertificationAmerican Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) is required.Washington State Radiologic Technologist certification required.Current Healthcare Provider BLS Certification.ACLS certification preferred.
