Interventional Technologist - Special Procedures

A Special Procedures Technologist is responsible for performing special procedures in Radiology to furnish the physicians with conclusive results in a timely manner.
A caregiver in this position works 4 ten hour shifts/week 7am - 5:30pm with a on call rotation (typically every 7th weekend and one weekday every 2 weeks when fully staffed.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Perform exams as directed by radiologist to ensure appropriate views of anatomy are taken that will facilitate an accurate diagnosis.
Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures including pulse assessment and sterile field preparation.
Maintain adequate level of supplies.
Comply with all Radiology Information System and PACS entry requirements for accurate patient, film, supply, tracking monitors.
Ensure the safety of patients, visitors, co-workers and self by using appropriate radiation and bloodborne pathogen precautions.
Assist and support the Radiologic student program, specifically the clinical aspect. Provides supervision and feedback to students as they perform procedures. Reviews images with students on request and provides quarterly evaluations of students to clinical instructions for formal reviews.
Attend continuing education programs and complete mandatory training to maintain licensure, position specific ongoing competencies and professional growth.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Successful completion of approved School of Radiologic Technology program.
License as a radiologic technologist in the State of Ohio.
Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Obtained certification by ARRT in cardiovascular technology within two years of appointment to the position.
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Three years of experience as a diagnostic technologist or one year experience in special procedures
