Abiding by the Mercycare mission and values, under the direction of the Chief of Medical Imaging, the Vascular/Interventional Technologist performs all vascular/interventional procedures in accordance with departmental standards.
Responsibilities:
Diagnostic imagingOperate and adjust imaging equipmentExplain procedure to patient, position patient and equipmentObtains and records a complete clinical history pertinent to the examination requested.Evaluates requests for appropriateness, refers concerns to coordinator and/or Radiologist.Ability to compress and evaluate arterial and venous puncture sites.Selects appropriate technical factors for requested imaging exam.Assists in the instruction of student technologists and new personnel.Selects accurate post processing techniques in order to optimize vascular/interventional images.Has full knowledge of inventories available and their applications (catheters, guidewires and stents).Maintains aseptic technique during procedures and scrub with physician.Ability to access and interpret lab values and patient monitoring equipment.What you will need:
AAS in Radiologic Technology (or equivalent hospital-based certificate program)Current NYS license in Radiologic TechnologyAdvanced certification in Cardiovascular/Interventional Technology preferred1-3 years experience as a Radiologic TechnologistPay Range: $34.05 - $49.61
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
