You can be an integral part of our UPMC Shadyside’s Heart Catheterization Department providing care for adult and geriatric cardiovascular populations in need of diagnosis and treatment. Work closely with our Cardiologists assisting them in providing lifesaving treatments for our patients using the latest techniques and technology for coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease, cardiomyopathy, valvular disease, congenital heart disease, and arrhythmias. Be a part of an experienced, competent team that works together to identify ways to offer compassionate care in an efficient, fast paced environment. Our Cath Lab team has positive working relationships with the physicians and ancillary departments within Shadyside hospital. We offer an extensive orientation program that will ensure your success in the department!
This position will be working daylight hours (M-F 7:30am – 4pm) with weekend and holiday call responsibilities.

Responsibilities:
Content areas include but not limited to: evidence-based practice change; service line workgroup leadership; quality improvement; research. Performs all job responsibilities of an Invasive Cardiovascular Technologist II Serves as a resource for new hires and students. Works as team member within assigned area to expedite patient care efficiently by demonstrating excellent communication and customer service skills. Effectively communicates with physicians, co-workers, managers, and patients in assigned sites and/or departments. Demonstrate mastery of all equipment utilized for procedures. Active participation in quality improvement activities for department as well as system level workgroups. Demonstrates the ability to function independently and perform services at other facilities including on call responsibility. Active role in inventory management as assigned. Assures that annual lead apron testing is completed.
