Inventory Accountant

JOB SUMMARY

The Inventory Accountant will work directly with the Inventory team on various projects related to distribution center and store inventory.  They will prepare balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries for month end close. The ideal candidate will be able to apply accounting principles and concepts to individual tasks. They should have a foundational knowledge of GAAP and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while interacting effectively with cross functional teams

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Execute day-to-day inventory projects such as transfers, adjustments, corrections, and data collection Assist with preparing and parking monthly journal entries  Work within inventory, GL, and Business Analytics systems for analysis, data collection, and transactional purposes Process damage corrections and store to store transfers Review and maintain adjustments of store physical inventory results Complete monthly general ledger reconciliations Collaborate with different functional teams to actively contribute to a disciplined financial statement close Provide timely and accurate accounting information to internal customers on an ad hoc basis Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in accounting required 1-2 years of accounting experience Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products such as Excel and Word required Knowledge of SAP accounting software, previous working experience preferred Detail oriented, deadline driven, organized individual able to handle multiple tasks while working independently or as part of a team Excellent problem-solving skills Highly motivated to meeting daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines
