MRC Global serves the oil and gas industry across the upstream, midstream and downstream sectors as well as the chemical and gas distribution market sectors worldwide.
Job Purpose:
Maintains MRC Global inventory balances, handles resale and costing errors, deals with sales and purchasing errors, and other service center and department problems that may affect the balancing of Book and Perpetual inventory.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (not all inclusive)
Individual must be able to perform the essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
Research and explain book to perpetual inventory variances.
Examine various daily reports (e.g., Gross Margin Errors, daily cycle counts; etc.) that determine potential errors and make appropriate corrections.
Examine monthly and weekly reports to determine volume and scope of sales and inventory-related discrepancies that need to be corrected.
Research various discrepancies including footage problems, unit of measure errors and cost variances until resolved.
Verify that on-hand balance, average cost, and general ledger have been updated correctly; determine variances and make appropriate corrections.
Work with assigned branches to clear up specific, branch-related problems.
Maintain accurate sales records by entering sales representative code changes and other corrections into system
Handle confidential information related to the cost from vendor and subsequent resale to the customer.
Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Education, Experience & Ability Requirements
Any combination of requirements, which provide knowledge and abilities necessary to perform essential duties and responsibilities, will be considered.
Undergraduate degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience that provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
0-1-year progressive experience in accounting or related field preferred.
Strong business math and analytical skills to efficiently solve complex inventory problems.
Excellent personal computer skills and the desire and ability to work with multiple MRC computer applications.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Valid Driver's license with the ability to meet the MRC Global vehicle policy and the ability to travel as needed.
Additional Qualifications:
Must have the ability to provide documentation verifying legal work status.
Ability to read and speak the English language proficiently to communicate with others; to understand and interpret safety instructions; and to respond to inquiries.
Ability to understand and comply with MRC Global guidelines & expectations, to include Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest guidelines.
