Inventory Clerk
Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for an Inventory Clerk in Baltimore, Maryland, United States. This role is crucial in the industry, with a focus on maintaining accurate inventory records, coordinating inventory counts, and supporting the accounting side with variance analysis and inventory adjustments. Responsibilities: • Coordinate with plant personnel to implement cycle counts, quarter-end counts, and year-end inventory, adhering to Group policies. • Record and address issues found during inventory counts promptly. • Conduct thorough analysis to identify the root cause of recurring and one-off inventory issues and implement suitable solutions. • Evaluate material master data to ensure consistency and compliance across all plant areas. • Collaborate with plant personnel to ensure an efficient and functional warehouse layout. • Accurately record all inventory adjustments in the ERP system. • Assist in assessing slow-moving and off-spec materials for inventory provisions. • Support with the preparation and posting of accounting journal entries related to the site. • Identify and execute opportunities to enhance onsite inventory controls. • Work with other departments, such as Shipping and Receiving, to optimize material flows across the site and reduce inefficiencies. Requirements • Applicant must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as an Inventory Clerk or a similar role • Proficiency in auditing is essential for this role • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are required • Familiarity with inventory cycles and their management is expected • Ability to conduct inventory analysis and audits is crucial • Knowledge of inventory accounting principles is necessary • Experience in creating and managing inventory reports is desired • Experience in year-end closings and journal entries is beneficial • Proficiency in using AS400 system for inventory management is required • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting is necessary Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
