Inventory management is vital to the efficient and cost-effective operations of Sleep Number’s fast-paced manufacturing and distribution environment. The Inventory Analyst role is instrumental in our daily site inventory processes by providing an accurate analysis of inventory balances. The Inventory Analyst partners with other departments to solve inventory related challenges and keep operations running smoothly.

Primary Responsibilities

Leads inventory management processes in Manufacturing sites and/or Bedding Fulfillment Center.Facilitates site Inventory Management reports.Represent Inventory Management in cross functional efforts as directed by the Inventory Manager.Leads the inventory management processes on the assigned department at the site level.Implements systems, policies, procedures, and standards for processes within the manufacturing and/or distribution facility. Transitions oversight of processes to business owners.Leads the collection and reporting on site inventory to leadership in Weekly Dashboard.Manages the cycle counting program, including design and implementation of the program and any needed changes.  Provides guidance and training to the different team managers in this process. Determines goals and metrics for their specific area. Strives for 100% physical and system match.Manages any required yearly physical inventory and ensures that it is performed in compliance with the corporate policy.Analyzes inventory trends to determine root cause of discrepancies and implement fixes or process changes.Manages the process of cycle counts; sets up frequency for item type.Prepare and manage physical inventory end to end.Manage/maintain/forecast inventory for cycle, scrap, yield, supplies - each unique GLs - report in dashboard format.Inventory analytics and reporting.Streamline POD process from an Inventory Management perspective and play point for Supply Chain when working cross functionally.Lead the path to Advance Supply Chain Planning (ASCP) for Inventory Management; ensure eBS inventory is accurate by identifying any potential pitfalls and putting corrective actions in place.Help in transforming the Inventory Management function by challenging current state processes and making breakthrough improvements.Partner with 3rd party logistics team and influence effectively without authority.

Position Requirements

2+ years of Supply Chain experience (Inventory Control preferred)ERP experience preferred; Oracle preferredProficient in Microsoft Office; (Mainly Excel, Access, PowerPoint)CPIM, APICS or other would be desirableSolid understanding of manufacturing environment, inventory and operationsHS Diploma or Equivalent requiredBachelor’s Degree preferredManager involvement in most decisionsInfluencing without authority both internally and via a 3rd partyBeing comfortable in an ambiguous environmentRequires exceptional computer skills, strong analytical thinking, and the ability to communicate with personnel across the companyAbility to translate analysis into actionable insightsDrive towards continuous improvementWorks independently and takes initiativeAttention to detailPositive Attitude; willingness to accept increasing responsibility

Working Conditions

This position will be based out of our ADC in Salt Lake City with a hybrid in-office environmentPossible travel as needed, less than 10%
