Inventory Control Specialist
POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining inventory processing as it relates to the production of finished goods from raw materials. This position coordinates activities related to stocking and replenishing goods. Normal days of work are Mondays through Fridays. Shift availability may vary. Hours may need to be extended or adjusted at any time, with or without notice, to meet the needs of the organization. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: • Responsible for receiving materials and accurate tracking/thorough inspection of received materials and goods ensuring materials meet OrePac’s quality standards. • Extensive usage of production and inventory management software • Required to assist in shipping and production duties as needed or requested by leadership. • Purchase Order acknowledgement and Work order production • Develop and implement inventory maintenance procedures and documentation. • Develops and implements production tracking procedures and documentation. • Organizes and maintains production and inventory systems and documentation. • Develop, implement, and maintain inventory organizational tools including physical organization and geographical location. • Forklift duties may be assigned to this position. Any assigned forklift duties will first require taking and passing a forklift training course and obtaining a certificate. Forklift duties will include staging and/or stacking material neatly and safely, operating the forklift in a safe manner, filling the forklift with propane fuel, and regularly checking the forklift fluid levels. REQUIRED SKILLS: • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 1 year of relevant experience, or any combination of education, training, or experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English as it relates to the job and to the safety regulations. • Ability to perform basic mathematical functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. • Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritize business needs. • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. • Ability to perform all job functions safely. • Strong leadership skills. • Ability to regularly lift/move/manipulate up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100.Ability to read, write and communicate in English as it relates to the job and to the safety regulations. • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. • Ability to perform all job functions safely. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or general education degree (GED), forklift experience of at least one year (preferred) or any combination of education, training or experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: • Regularly required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Inventory Control Specialist 11-2023 Page 3 of 4 • Regularly use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls • Regularly reach with hands and arms • Regularly lift/move/manipulate up to 60 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds. • Regularly required to bend, reach, and climb tall ladders. • Regularly required to see, talk, and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT: • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate/loud. • The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. • The employee frequently works in high, precarious places. • The employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions. DRESS CODE: • All employees are expected to wear clothing appropriate for the nature of OrePac business and the type of work being performed. Clothing should be neat, clean, and tasteful. SAFETY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Report all incidents and accidents to one’s immediate supervisor within 24 hours. • Maintain the work area in a safe and healthful condition. • Report, and whenever possible correct, unsafe working conditions to branch leadership. • Operate vehicles while in the course of employment in a safe and lawful manner. • Provide assistance to reduce or eliminate workplace hazards. • Comply with company drug testing policies and procedures. • Comply with company Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) policies.
