Inventory Control Specialist

Position Summary:

The Inventory Control Specialist executes inventory procedures to ensure an accurate record of inventory in the ERP system. This individual performs daily cycle counts, researches inventory discrepancies and completes inventory transactions to reconcile issues. The role works cross functionally with Distribution, Purchasing, and Customer Service teams to correct inventory errors.

 

The regular schedule for the role is Monday - Friday either 10am - 6:30pm or 2:00pm - 10:30pm. Overtime is possible as business needs fluctuate. Training schedule may involve travel or training outside of scheduled shift.

What You'll do as an Inventory Control Specialist:

•    Ensure inventory accuracy rates of 98% or above through completion of the daily cycle count program including physical counts, data entry, and reporting.
•    Utilize WMS/ERP system to complete research and transactions related to inventory investigations and reconciliation.
•    Assists in expiring product processes including system transactions as well as physical disposition of product.
•    Partner with Distribution and Quality teams to manage material transactions and product segregation of quarantine and quality hold inventory.
•    Assist in cross-functional inventory investigations and root cause analysis related to inventory inaccuracies, shipping complaints, returns, as well as loss of material due to internal and external damage.
•    Manage damage and repack process to ensure inventory is systematically and physically dispositioned correctly.
•    Follow related work instructions and provide feedback for updates and training opportunities.
•    Organize and maintain inventory records and documentation in accordance with Record Retention and Good Documentation Practices.
•    Participate in internal and external audits as required.
•    Cross train in end-to-end Distribution Center processes to allow for proficient inventory investigations as well as back-up of other departments if required.
•    Participate in Continuous Improvement events, training, and daily processes including but not limited to tracking of productivity data and leading 5S audits.
•    Obtain required powered equipment certifications to complete assigned tasks.
•    Maintain and engage in promotion of a safe work environment.
•    Maintain positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
 

Required, Preferred, and Other Qualifications:

Required

High school diploma or GED. 2+ years of warehouse, inventory control, or related disciplines. Working knowledge of inventory transactions and record keeping. Ability to read, understand, and carry out written and verbal instructions as well as safety procedures. Proficiency in ERP/Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). Ability to become forklift certified. 


Preferred

Previous experience working in Oracle ERP systems. Experience driving forklifts or similar: counterbalance, stock picker, reach truck equipment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office systems: Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook etc.


Other

Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance. ADA Factors: Bending, walking, standing, and sitting frequently (34-66%). Typing, hand manipulation, visual acuity (67-100%). Lifting, pushing, pulling 25-50lbs. What STERIS Offers:
