Position Summary:
The Inventory Control Technician is responsible for receiving, recording, and distributing inventory and supplies
This position is governed by state and federal laws and institution policy
Duties & Responsibilities:
+ Delivers freight and parcels to campus departments
+ Pick up Parcels and freight from campus departments to be shipped out
+ Pick up US Mail from U.S. Post Office and take to campus departments
+ Unload/load trucks by hand or forklift, dolly, pallet jack, etc.
+ Log and process freight and parcels
+ Fill out pick-up tickets from departments and pick up freight
+ Check out supplies from warehouse for delivery on work orders such as paper
+ Answer phone concerning freight orders, delivery times, etc.
+ Use tracking numbers from log to search for freight
+ Assist with checking out of warehouse parts
+ Deliver keys from Lock Shop or signs from Sign Shop
+ Sign out freight to FM and ITS employees using a sign out sheet
+ Label packages for route loading/make route accordingly
+ Prioritize freight for delivery such as frozen, overnight, event freight, ASAP, etc.
+ Maintain part records in FAMIS/MC for accuracy (as needed)
+ Assist with Inventory Audit for accuracy to prepare for State Audit (Annually)
+ Perform Daily Counts (If necessary)
+ Review and adhere to all safety *(including handling of Hazardous Material) procedures
+ Other duties as assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of general inventory control procedures and equipment
Ability to maintain supplies and inventory records
Ability to perform basic mathematical computations
Ability to operate standard office equipment
Ability to plan, organize and multi-task to ensure compliance with work requests and/or specifications
Must posse’s high-quality Customer Service skills
Must posse’s high quality of Communication skills – verbal, written, etc
*This is a physical, fast-paced, position that involves continual lifting, lowering, and carrying packages that typically weigh 25 - 35 lbs and may weigh up to 70 lbs.
General Days/Hours:
Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.
Hours may be adjusted to accommodate customer needs
Additional hours as requested and/or need

Minimum Qualifications:
The formal education equivalent of a High School Diploma
One (1) year of experience in inventory control or related area
Preferred to possess a valid Driver's License
Must obtain and maintain certificate to operate forklift
Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements, except for certification or licensure requirements, upon approval of the qualifications review committee
