Inventory Lead - Business Improvement and Supply Chain
Role Introduction

Reports to: Business Improvement and Supply Chain Manager

Engineering’s ambition is to be one of the world’s highest performing, customer centric and progressive engineering teams and the role of Inventory Lead (Warehouse) is responsible for managing inventory storage and logistics services arrangement. This role involves supplier performance management, resolution of supply chain issues to help maintain a smooth and efficient airline operation while minimising the total cost of ownership. The role involves management of inventory optimisation activities and support of business improvement initiatives to improve cost effectiveness of Inventory Management in Engineering using LEAN methodologies and principles.

 

 

Key Responsibilities
Lead and drive business improvement initiatives in Inventory Management using LEAN methodologies and principlesEnsure stores and logistics procedures are properly implemented via definition of clear Interface and Operating Manuals and proper training of all involved stakeholdersDrive identification of cost-drivers and initiate cost mitigation actionsManage service providers and suppliers to ensure storage and warehouse contracts are properly implemented, monitor KPIs and drive improvement plansManage and oversee stores and stores service providers in order to ensure regulatory compliance and optimal stores operations whilst minimising costsManage and oversee logistics providers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of parts to where they are requiredProactively identify and manage surplus, excess or obsolete spares to optimise inventoryDeputise for Business Improvement & Supply Chain Manager as requiredRequirements
Degree in Engineering / Aerospace or Logistics and Supply Chan discipline (or suitable equivalent)Minimum 8 years of relevant experience working with airlines, MROs, OEMs or suppliers Extensive exposure to inventory management, technical services, procurement or maintenance planningGood commercial and financial acumen, analytical skills and process-orientedStrong communication, influencing and negotiation skills, ability to build and maintain collaborative relationshipsAdaptable to change. Proven ability to identify and drive process improvementsExperience of using LEAN techniques to drive business improvement initiativesPersonal & Application Information
