Mr Price Group Logistics is seeking an Inventory lead to oversee the day-to-day operations of our inventory management function. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing of inventory across multiple warehouses/divisions; management of cycle count function; management of DC self-audit process.
• NQF level 7 (bachelor’s e.g. BA, Bcom, BSc or equivalent 3-year degree) • 3-5 years’ experience in a distribution and warehouse environment • Preferred Specific knowledge of inventory or warehouse operations/inventory warehouse analysis experience and understanding of value chain • Working knowledge and understanding of logistics and systems environment - WMS systems, ERP systems, (and Tableau or similar technology-driven BI Tools if required).· Inventory Management Compiles, verifies and reports statistical information regarding inventory trends to support actionable recommendations.
· Identify inventory records/transactions, ensure that inventory balanced, and is accurately maintained in all systems, making appropriate inventory adjustments.
· Oversees inventory warehouse management system (WMS) to analyse deliveries, shipments and stock levels. Evaluates deliveries, shipments and product levels to improve inventory control procedures.
· Analyses daily product and supply levels to anticipate inventory problems and shortages. Provide operational support to the warehouse teams (across all group warehouses/ DCs).
· Inventory Cycle Count: Support the efforts of cycle counts by identifying and correcting stock discrepancies for any location or items.
· Optimise overall location and item level accuracy. Drafting inventory reports that document inventory counts, discrepancies, and other statistical data.
· Reporting inventory statistics to management and suggesting improvements to inventory control.
· Support audits of inventory policies and procedures and financial processes.
· Conducting the self-audit process and sending results timeously to relevant stakeholders. Ensure compliance with all standard operating procedures.
· Manage Workflows by effectively training, motivating and monitoring inventory staff activities.
