Inventory Manager
Permatex, Inc. a division of Illinois Tool Works (NYSE: ITW); is a leading manufacturer, distributor, and marketer of premium chemical products to the automotive maintenance and repair, home and hardware markets. JOB DUTIES + Ensure that there is sufficient inventory to meet the organization's needs by ordering products; and managing out-of-stock over-stocked products. + Ensures efficient management of the warehouse database to maintain up-to-date stock records; retrieve stored information; place orders; or respond to inquiries (for example on inventory levels or delivery schedules). + Monitor warehouse activities to ensure that goods are stored correctly and safely, and warehouse space is used efficiently. + Monitor the effectiveness of operating procedures, space utilization, and protection of equipment and make recommendations for improvements. + Prioritize and assign tasks to ensure that the team’s resources are used effectively, and that work schedules and targets are met. + Supervise staff to ensure that all warehouse activities, and all equipment operate safely. Train new hires in the organization's operating procedures and standards. + Manage the cycle count program ensuring regular and accurate cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy, as well as updating the program as required. + Investigating and correcting component inventory issues while addressing and resolving inventory discrepancies as they arise. + Leading root cause analysis investigations when significant discrepancies are identified to prevent future occurrences. + Entering daily production data ensuring it’s accurately recorded and maintained. + Manage non-compliant inventory, partnering with Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Quality Departments to ensure the timely disposition and return or rework of non-compliant components. + Supervising the Receiving Department which consists of seven hourly positions. + Promotes and follows all safety guidelines and procedures. + Recommends safety improvements as needed. + Must be able to utilize company ERP systems. + Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS + Associate’s degree required in business management, supply chain management or related field. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. + Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience required. + Strong interpersonal abilities, communication at all levels, and internal & external customer service skills are a must. + Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources. + Must be organized. + Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. + Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. + Ability to deal with problems involving an employee, equipment, or resources. + Previous ERP experience strongly preferred. + Ability to maintain a level of confidentiality required.
