Job Summary:
The Inventory Manager is responsible for managing WMCHealth’s warehouse(s) and distribution network, including regional inventory locations to ensure the correct stock levels at all locations are at agreed levels of service, regulatory requirements, and customer satisfaction to all new and existing customers. The position is responsible for managing and improving the inventory, materials management and receiving processes for WMCHealth ensuring alignment with the purchasing, procurement and logistics framework.
Responsibilities:
Leads the development, implementation and review of an optimal inventory strategy to ensure the appropriate balance of service, quality cost and access are maintained. Manages the effective utilization of existing warehousing and inventory facilities across the network Drives high utilization of standard processes and procedures to ensure maximum efficiency and proper stock management Ensures performance parameters are measured against Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and reports results to Business Manager and Senior Leaders. Oversees and reduces the cost of handling, issuing, and transportation of materials to ensure the optimum cost / service balance is delivered to customers. Creates improved processes for the recognition and handling of obsolete or sequestered stock and the rational isolation of critical supplies, stock and holding locations. Leads regular review of inventory levels to minimize stock holdings at inventory locations and ensure turnover. Establishes and monitors a cycle count calendar for ongoing inventory accuracy. Leads the ongoing improvement for inventory, materials management and receiving processes within WMCHealth. Partners with leadership roles within the Supply Chain to develop and implement demand forecasting to optimize purchasing planning with the warehouse and utilization planning with the Demand Planning and System Procurement leaders. Collaborates with internal and external leaders to ensure efficient and effective customer service and support while ensuring compliance to all internal policies and procedures and external regulations. Leads professional staff to successful outcomes while managing multiple, concurrent projects. Provides logistics and warehousing support to strategic alliances. Performs all other duties as required or assigned. Qualifications/Requirements:
Experience:
Five years of healthcare experience is preferred. Experience with an ERP system including familiarity with materials management inventory concepts, staff motivation, and regulatory standards in a hospital setting. Demonstrated experience in inventory management, purchasing optimization, and supplier performance management. Knowledge of the regulatory, compliance and policy frameworks applied to the relevant activities.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Licenses / Certifications:
AHRMM CMRP within two years
