Summary of Position:
The Inventory and Materials Manager is responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy and organizing quarterly physical inventories at the GA site, while also overseeing the cycle count program. This role includes managing a team and providing leadership in various supply chain functions such as production planning, materials forecasting, receiving raw materials, production scheduling, and commodity planning.
Functions of the Position:% of TimeEssential/ Marginal· Oversees the inventory control staff, which involves conducting interviews, hiring, training new team members, conducting performance evaluations, resolving complaints, and addressing any issues that arise within the team. Additionally, this role entails planning, assigning, and supervising the work of the team. 30%Essential· Coordinates with scheduler and operations in efforts to effectively develop forecasts and processes to manage those forecasts.20%Essential· Responsible for assuring production reporting accuracy and that all reporting is done in a timely manner (in the correct period), including inventory variances. 10%Essential· Ensures inventory accuracy and all cycle count controls are adequate, and results are consistent with expectations to ensure the annual physicals are no longer necessary. Some of these counts may fall outside of the normal cycle count functions.10%Essential· Responsible for ensuring the accuracy of production reports and that all reporting is completed promptly within the designated period. In cases of discrepancies in work orders, the Inventory and Materials Manager will provide assistance or conduct a direct investigation to determine the cause.10%Essential· In the event a physical inventory is required, the I/C manager is responsible for managing the process in line with the company's established protocols and standards.5%Marginal· Responsible for reviewing outside blanching transactions and consignment reconciliations on an ongoing basis.5%Marginal· Coordinates the development of long-term operational resource requirements planning for the Bainbridge facility.5%Marginal· Develops rough-cut capacity planning processes and implements best practices in planning and scheduling to ensure better synchronization of the flow of materials and in maintaining accurate inventories.5%Marginal
· Aware and accountable for maintaining and documenting preventative controls necessary to ensure food safety and quality.
· Responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to management.
· Responsible for partnering with others, sharing knowledge, skills, and information within assigned team and across functional areas.
· Responsible for enhancing technical and functional competencies, as well as professional and leadership development.
· Responsible for compliance with all safety policies and procedures established for health and workplace safety.
· Responsible for supporting safety culture by practicing safe work behaviors, reporting potential hazards, and conducting safety observations as assigned.
· Responsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe and quality food by following current good manufacturing practices, allergen/sanitation controls, food defense/food fraud, HACCP/FSMA, SQF, and regulatory requirements.Continually

Qualifications
Education, Experience, and Knowledge:
Five years’ experience in inventory management. Knowledge of inventory, production and shipping operations. Supervisory/management experience. Bachelor’s degree in an accounting or business discipline preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Quality computer skills with Microsoft Office applications. Project management skills and ability to work with other departments necessary.
Job Specific Requirements:
In the event that the Inventory and Materials Manager is absent, the Plant Manager is responsible for providing an equally qualified person to cover this position.
