Job description

The Inventory Control Specialist position is responsible for maintaining accuracy of inventory levels, facilitating intra-company shipments, establishing inventory locations, and maintaining relationships with key personnel at Cornerstone Building Brands facilities, and vendors, to ensure competitive timely receipt of material.

Work with the Supervisors, Operations Manager and/or Plant Manager to establish dedicated locations and labels for all material in the facilityWork with Intracompany Coordinators to move material efficiently, as needed to other facilitiesReview inventory transactionsMonitor inventory levels and inventory movements to ensure appropriate levels of inventory are maintained to meet customer demandReceive material into inventory systemWork with Supply Chain Team to recommend optimum inventory levels are maintainedFacilitate the cycle count programCompile the consumables count at month endIdentify root cause and process improvements for any inventory discrepanciesReview compiled inventory reports and enter inventory adjustments to balance as neededPresent reports and recommendations to management regarding product choices and stocking levels to promote profitabilityMaintain inventory records in accordance with company records retention policyFacilitate management of certificates of origin / MTR’s for completed jobsSupport compliance for auditsLead site Physical Inventory activitiesOther projects and responsibilities may be added at the company’s discretion

 

Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent required. College degree preferredMinimum of three years of inventory control experience in a manufacturing or production settingGood mathematical skillsStrong technical acumen that includes, MS Office Suite and Data EntryAbility to work with precision in a fast-paced environmentAbility to think and respond quickly and adjust operations in response to unplanned eventsAbility to be self-directedAttention and care required to prevent errorsAbility to read simple to complex documents in which considerable inference may be requiredStrong commitment to customer serviceAbility to maintain a constant state of alertness and in a safe mannerSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focusStrong communication skillsExcellent time management and prioritization skillsA positive team playerAbility to prioritize multiple projects with conflicting timelinesA customer centric attitudeA natural problem solver with an analytical mindsetEmotional intelligence and positive approach to accountabilityExperience with Oracle a plusExperience working in the building material or metal buildings industry a plusBilingual ability is a plus Additional information
