Inventory Specialist

GigaGen is looking for an organized and detailed-oriented Buyer I to support operations. This will include managing inventory, tracking orders, resolving issues concerning price disputes, and making bids for a vendor's services. Ideal candidate will also be responsible for analyzing costs, negotiating contract details, and offering strategies and solutions to help GigaGen better manage spend on supplies and vendor services. **Primary responsibilities for role:** • Communicate with suppliers to expedite orders and resolve discrepancies. • Involved in supporting supplier sourcing, product standardization, and order management activities. Perform total price and cost analysis on vendor quotations and proposals. • Involved in improving formal SOW (statement of work), RFI (request for information), and RFQ (request for quote) processes. • Effectively source and manage vendors, resulting in top quality products and services at optimum pricing. Manage vendor performance. • Maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers. Serve as liaison with PO requisitioner, Accounting, Accounts Payable and/or vendor to resolve any issues. • Works with internal customers and vendors to determine product requirements and/or replacements for non-GMP items. E.g. discontinues IT equipment, new SRM material requirements, etc. Evaluate purchase options based upon cost, timeliness required and/or competitive bidding. include market research, competitor analysis, product evaluations and testing, monitoring purchase orders and creating reports for the management team. Will present cost analysis and savings to management for review. • Involvement in rolling out Purchasing initiatives and training. Assist the department in creating, implementing and training in new processes with the team. • Provide recommendations to support business goals and identify areas of savings and cost opportunities. • Establish contracts for services and materials and manage as required. May assist in negotiating, completing and filing contracts. • Ensures communication and compliance with policies and procedures in a decentralized environment. • Review and execute purchase orders for inventoried items. Manages all activities associated with inventoried materials from order placement to tracking. • Manages all activities such as material master updates, material number creation, info record updates, form updates, tax updates, inventoried materials. • Enter Corporate requested and manual requisition purchase orders in SAP, as required. • Manage special projects as they are identified. • Serves as Purchaser • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Department Manager/Supervisor. **Additional Responsibilities, Skills & Requirements:** • Associate Degree or Bachelor (strongly preferred) • 3 years of experience • Demonstrate strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail • Excellent verbal and communication skills • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) • Ability to navigate a challenging environment with rapidly re-prioritize as required • Strong analytical skills for evaluating historical and projected spend • Able to lift up to 25 pounds • Experience with ERP and P2P (Procure-to-pay) systems a plus This job description is intended to present the general content and requirements for the performance of this job. The estimated pay scale for the Inventory Specialist role based in San Carlos, California is $69,000.00-$79,000 per year. Additionally, the position is eligible to participate in the company bonus pool. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on education, experience, skillset, knowledge, where the role is performed, internal equity and market data.
