Job Overview:
Under the direction of the Manager, the Inventory Specialist works and cooperates with Receiving and Distribution staff.

Required:
High school diploma requiredSix months to one-year Materials Management/Distribution experienceKnowledge of computer applications including Word and Excel and the ability to multi-task successfullyExcellent verbal communication, interpersonal and demonstrated writing skillsPreferred:

Shift: DayTime: 7:00am - 3:00pmStatus: Per Diem (As needed based on department needs)Essential Functions:
Actively participates in cost containment and clinical product standardization programsActs as a liaison between Supply Chain and other unitsAct as official purchasing agent for OR/unit, reviews and evaluates product data with an emphasis on specialized clinical itemsAdvise appropriate team members of product backorder, and makes recommendations to resolve issuesFiles all documents and related paperwork in a timely fashionReceives all physicians request for implants and special clinical items; clarifies request with MD office if necessary and expedites delivery of items for surgeryReconciles invoices that have pricing or receiving discrepancies; helps to resolve credit hold issues by acting as a liaison between AP and vendorProcesses all bill only, filing by vendor and dateProcesses all Add items and activations dailyReviews implant log daily, and enters usage into Champion Tissue Tracking,Sweeps for expired product dailyMoves short dates to the front of the packCompiles spreadsheet of all expired productAttends huddle for schedulingPacks all returns and brings to receiving for processingCompiles bill only back up implant descriptions and brings to OR materials managerOrders OR supplies and replenish the OR supply roomMaintain bill and replace records for consignment inventory,Maintain the organization of the storeroom by performing FIFO, labeling and cleanliness of supply bins and storage shelfsActively review surgeon preference cards and case cart sheets for case efficiencyPerform other duties as assignedRWJBarnabas Health is the premier health care destination providing patient-centered, high-quality academic medicine in a compassionate and equitable manner, while delivering a best-in-class work experience to every member of the team.
