Job summary – What to expect: 

As a Team Leader in Inventory, you will be expected to provide leadership to the teams to ensure that internal and external customer requirements are met within expected time frames.

You will also monitor, motivate, and develop the operator’s performance ensuring that all training is reviewed, documented and administrated in the electronic control system & Competency testing training systems for permanent and temporary staff (as appropriate) and that the departmental objectives are achieved within specified time frames.

Essential Functions & Accountabilities:

Ensuring the departmental Service levels are maintained and where possible exceeded in compliance with organizational requirements, including departmental targets, quality standards, and customer requirements. To provide world-leading levels of quality & service to our customers in the most efficient manner. Understanding of all relevant Health & Safety and GMP procedures to ensure a safe and clean working environment following 5s standards. Promote and monitor GMP and best practices of keeping the working space clean and organized. Investigate and respond to problems in relation to equipment, machinery and materials, communicating any issues to your Section Leader & relevant department to ensure minimum disruption and maximum service levels.  Investigation of customer complaints to lead to successful conclusion of root cause identification. Including documentation of NCR’s, CAPA’S and Cause and Effect Instances as required. Review all aspects of the department ensuring compliance with company and departmental procedures and where applicable writing / updating SOP’s. Participate in internal and external audits as required to ensure compliance to relevant ISO/FDA & customer requirements. Carry out an annual performance review with updates as required for each team member, including staff development & competency tests.

Work Environment:

Time split between Large open plan warehouse environment which can fluctuate in temperature & desk/office-based work. May be requirement to lift materials and /or boxes of lenses, up to approx 15kg. Periods of prolonged standing or sitting, including VDU use. Working at heights may be required.

About you:

We are looking for someone who has experience in leading, developing, and motivating a team of people to achieve set objectives as well as someone who can identify process waste (TIMWOODS), suggest ideas for improvement, actively participate in CI activities and Kaizen events (as appropriate) and support Senior Operators/Operators in eliminating process waste and implementation of changes.

Experience & Education:

Required

Experience in a fast-paced environment and meeting tight deadlines. Experience in basic operation of key systems e.g. ERP, MES & WMS. Experience of leading, developing & motivating a team of people. Understanding of continuous improvements, Health and Safety. Experience in continuous improvement processes.

Preferred

Experience of working in a warehouse environment preferred. Five GSE’s grade A-C (or equivalent) or NVQ level 3 preferred.
