This position is eligible to telework up to two (2) days per week. This position is part-time 75% FTE, and will be located in St. Paul, MN. This position is an investigative and analytical resource to the Minnesota Board of Private Detective and Protective Agent Services. To respond to complaints and to a wide variety of security and investigation enforcement and regulatory inquiries from MNPDB clientele, support staff, law enforcement and management. To conduct investigations, respond to complaints, and compile detailed reports. To provide analysis on data related to the investigative and security industry. To work with law enforcement as needed. To conduct license application inspections, renewal inspections and other administrative tasks assuring licenses are in compliance with MN Statutes 326.32 -326.339 and Administrative Rules 7506.0100 - 7506.2900. Assist local law enforcement as requested to provide statutory, regulatory and policy information regarding private security and investigation regulation and enforcement. Appear and speak at public or industry meetings, conferences, contested case hearings and legislative hearings. **Minimum Qualifications** 1. One (1) year of experience in law enforcement, auditing, or investigations. Associate level degree in law enforcement, criminal justice, or related field may substitute for 6 months of experience. 2. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and with public presentations. 3. Ability to work cooperatively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and underserved communities. **Preferred Qualifications** 1. Three to five years' work experience conducting investigations or auditing. 2. Proficient with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint. 3. Excellent time management and organizational skills. 4. Ideal candidate will have significant prior industry experience or prior law enforcement/investigative experience to address the nuances of identifying deception, following relevant leads, understanding and applying conflict/interpersonal dynamics balanced by the exactness of statutes or regulations and be willing to educate individuals on the nuances of regulations and training as may be needed. **Physical Requirements** Requires occasionally moving and transporting such articles as file boxes and heavy hand tools or heavier materials with help from others and moving and transporting light objects frequently. Even though the weights being moved and transported may be a negligible amount, a job in this category may require positioning self to move to a significant degree or may involve maintaining a stationary position for extended periods. **Additional Requirements** A Criminal History Background check and reference checks will be completed on the prospective employee.
