Job Title: InvestigatorReports to: The Director of Support Services
Department: Support Services
Job purpose (or description): The Investigator is responsible for the overall review and management of incident report making per State guidelines and all applicable regulatory requirements, and policies, as well as the investigation of alleged abuse, neglect, or exploitation situations. This position reports to the Director of Support Services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Have knowledge of funding and accreditation standards including but not limited to DIDD, Licensure, Medicaid Waiver, Department of Health, ICF/MR, and the MCO’s. Have ability to interpret all standards to ensure compliance and the quality of services being delivered to agency consumers. Ability to aggregate data to assist with identification of potential problems and agency patterns and trends relative to indicate management activities. Conduct investigations into alleged physical or verbal exploitation cases or alleged cases of neglect toward people supported. Upon conclusion of each investigation, complete a comprehensive and unbiased report using the appropriate format and guidelines. Maintain a complete record of all collected evidence and witness statements (written or electronic) for managerial review, external validation or future reference. Gather and analyze facts and evidence and prepare case reports and recommendations regarding alleged abuse or exploitation cases, per State guidelines. Maintain confidentiality throughout the agency. Assist with staff training regarding abuse and neglect policies and procedures. Coordinate review and reporting of incidents to proper authorities, per State guidelines. Personally respond to site of serious incidents to assure reporting compliance and conduct initial inquiries.Qualifications:
Four-year degree from an accredited college or university required. Prior Incident Management and/or Investigations experience preferred; must have excellent organizational and analytical skills. Effective oral and written communication skills required.
Working Conditions:
Typically, time is spent in a climate-controlled office environment either in a private office or shared office space. During times of investigation, most hours are spent in the field. Must work traditional hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00a.m. To 5:00 p.m.Physical Requirements:
Performing duties of this job requires some standing, sitting, and occasionally being able to lift or move up to 25 pounds.
Salary: $43,000 annually
Hours: Monday-Friday 8a-5p (This is a hybrid position.)
