Zions Capital Markets is seeking a well-qualified professional to join its Investment Banking Group as a Director / Managing Director. The Investment Banking Group provides advisory and execution services to middle market companies for important strategic and financial matters including raising capital, mergers and acquisitions, and other corporate finance activities. Investment banking and securities underwriting activities are offered through Zions Direct, Inc., member FINRA / SIPC.
This senior role offers an exceptional opportunity to be responsible for the team’s California office and will be tasked with cultivating opportunities through the Bank’s vast middle market portfolio. This role is an exciting opportunity to join an entrepreneurial group building a fast-growing platform within a key focus area of the Bank, as Zions Capital Markets is expected to be a key profit driver for the enterprise in the near future. The Bank’s extensive middle-market portfolio and reach among founder-owned companies provides significant transaction volume for deal teams.
This position will be located in the Zions Capital Markets office in El Segundo, California.
Essential Functions:
+ Build relationships with Bank relationship managers, deal referral sources, and business owners
+ Identify, qualify, and generate new prospect leads
+ Manage the client relationship by assisting clients through the entire transaction process including due diligence, marketing, negotiations, and execution
+ Oversee all client and counter-party communication
+ Supervise the due diligence processes and materials
+ Managing the creation of comprehensive pitchbooks, management presentations, and marketing materials
+ Manage, lead, and/or mentor junior bankers and team members
+ Some travel required
+ Identify and manage risks in each engagement by ensuring processes, controls, and work products are fully compliant with all applicable regulations, rules, and internal policies
+ Manage ad hoc tasks and perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
+ Requires a Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a similarly related field. MBA and/or CFA is a plus
+ 10+ years of experience in investment banking, transaction advisory services, or similar experience
+ Deep knowledge of investment banking products, services, and markets
+ Self-directed, highly motivated, and proactive
+ Ready to assume a high level of responsibility
+ Demonstrated track record of achievement in middle market M&A and/or capital raising
+ Significant knowledge of applicable investment banking regulations
+ Excellent analytical, quantitative, and communication (both verbal and written)
+ High level of focus on work quality and attention to detail
+ Ability to manage multiple projects independently under pressure and tight deadlines
+ Unquestionable ethics, integrity, and judgment
+ Strong organizational skills with demonstrated track record of meeting deadlines and effective time management
+ Series 79 (or equivalent) and 63 will be required within 90 days of joining and potential need for Series 24
The salary range for this role is $250,000 to $300,000. The salary range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range could change. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs.
