Investment Portfolio Director
Description The Investment Portfolio Director will be a key member of the Institutional Investment Portfolio and Hedging team within Treasury. The team manages the company's Investment Portfolio, Institutional Hedging, and MSR Hedging activities by reviewing investment strategies, seeking out new opportunities, and recommending changes in investments to manage risk and generate acceptable rate of return. The incumbent will also study and monitor investment performance and economic trends that may impact different portfolios, focusing on strategically determining which investments or actions will help to achieve goals and objectives. This role will use significant judgement when faced with complex business problems and should have an advanced understanding of Bank balance sheets, interest rate derivatives, volatility, and other fixed income investments as well as how various strategies impact the broader organization. Primary responsibilities include + Primary management of daily hedging of the Bank's Mortgage Servicing Rights (MSR) utilizing interest rate swaps, options, futures, and TBAs. + Secondary management of the investment activities for the Investment Portfolio and Institutional Hedging strategy development and execution. + Assess, develop, and/or refine desk and production-based models (BlackRock Analytics) to utilize and support the team's pre-trade analytics and macroeconomic environment evaluation. Utilize desk models to analyze relative value, relation to economic factors, scenario analysis, and hedging strategies. + Using an understanding of the balance sheets risk factors and management goals that drive CFG performance, develop creative solutions to drive strategic direction and/or allocation decisions of different portfolios, primarily focused on the hedging portfolios. + Develop and execute policies, procedures and processes to mitigate various types of investment-related risk, including credit risk, interest rate risk, operational risk, compliance risk; pricing and valuation risk, credit and counterparty risk; and execution and trading risk. + Perform scenario analyses, including stress testing, sensitivity and worst case to assess portfolio exposure to credit/market factors. Qualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials + Previous record of trading execution on the buy or sell side + Proven ability to manage risk + History of model development and/or expert level Microsoft excel skills + Bachelor Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Math, Statistics, or related topic + Progress towards the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA or Financial Risk Manager (FRM) designation Hours & Work Schedule + Hours per Week: 40 + Work Schedule: M-F #LI-CITIZENS2 Some job boards have started using jobseeker-reported data to estimate salary ranges for roles.
