Job Description Coordinates and supervises the Universitys monthly and annual fiscal closing operations in collaboration with local and systemwide departments and campuses. Supports internal and external auditors during audits of the Universitys records and addresses any audit-related issues. Develops accounting and reporting policies and procedures in compliance with Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) standards and other relevant requirements. Provides specialized accounting support and coordination to campuses regarding general accounting, as well as endowment and investment accounting matters. Oversees the state educational appropriations claims process in collaboration with various stakeholders. Manages accounting and reporting for over 5,000 participants in the Universitys investment pools. Analyzes agreements and conducts accounting research to create necessary accounting instructions for proper transaction recording at campuses and medical centers, and interprets procedures for implementation. Participates in the maintenance, testing, and implementation of enhancements to the endowment and investment accounting system, general ledgers for UCOP and certain systemwide functions, as well as consolidated financial reporting systems and tools. Leads systemwide projects that involve developing strategies and administering policies, processes, and resources that impact immediate operations and may have broader systemwide implications.
