Kemper’s Internship Program

Kemper’s internships will enable you to broaden your understanding of the business, make valuable connections, and set a course for your professional journey with us. You will work on special projects that positively impact our business and our customers.      

Kemper is looking for students who love to problem solve and are willing to a make real-life impact on projects that may involve the senior executives to front-line associates.  We deliver meaningful experiences in various internship areas like Product Development, Claims, Operations, Finance, IT, Data Analytics, and much more. Are you ready to create your own journey by joining ours? This is a 10-week paid internship offering challenging projects that support Kemper’s strategic priorities. 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Gain experience in the investment process and work alongside the Investment Operations teamLearn how trade processing occurs within an investment group along with the daily workflows needed to publish reportingSupport the team with cross-functional projects to help drive department initiativesParticipate in department meetings and engage with a variety of team members and leadersAssist front office with investment research and analysisGenerate and present reports on weekly portfolio activity and credit changes

Position Requirements:

Junior or Senior enrolled in an accredited bachelor’s degree programQualifying majors include finance, economics, management, business administration, mathematics, risk management, or a related fieldA minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 GPA scaleProficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)Excellent written and verbal communication skillsEager to learn and take on new projectsSelf-directed and able to work with little supervisionStrong collaboration and teamwork skillsThis position is not eligible for visa sponsorshipThis position is a hybrid role and may require work in the office 4-5 days a week.
