Investor Relations Senior (Hybrid - 3 Days in Office)

Position Overview:

Freddie Mac’s Finance Division is seeking an Investor Relations Senior to be part of the Corporate FP&A team. The Investor Relations team is responsible for the operational needs of Finance with an emphasis on financial analysis.

The ideal candidate will have an advanced understanding of the mortgage business and financial reporting. The hired incumbent will be responsible for supporting financial analysis and reporting.

Our Impact:

Our team’s central role is to be a close and reliable partner to senior management, providing a variety of insights from regular business and market updates to ad hoc strategic and financial analysis. This includes producing executive dashboards, comparative peer and competitor analysis, and reporting on the company’s performance against its corporate goals. In addition, we support Freddie Mac’s earnings release process and are responsible for preparing presentations for the Board of Directors, FHFA and US Treasury.

Investor Relations & Financial Analysis

Perform business strategic analysis and reporting for Finance and Capital Reporting

Work with business segment partners to obtain financial data and explain business drivers

Produce analytic results and communicate to senior management and business segments

Create earnings materials, develop investor messaging strategies and support the quarterly earnings process

Assist with the development of the quarterly investor presentations and responses to anticipated analyst questions

Maintain supporting documents for controls and audit testing

Source and manipulate appropriate data from disparate data sources, perform detailed analysis and articulate the conclusion of such analysis

Strategic and Ad hoc Analysis

Execute special projects / ad hoc analyses, as initiatives, products, risks and opportunities are constantly evolving

Build sophisticated financial and operating models to solve complex questions with respect of financial analysis, valuation and peer analysis

Learn to use existing finance tools and help build new ones by defining what information needs to be seen

Help automate, improve, and scale reporting and business metrics 

Support the preparation of presentations to senior management including the Board of Directors

Contribute to valuation exercises and financing activities

Analyze market and internal metrics to identify trends and highlight opportunities to drive business performance across departments

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, business administration or another related field

Minimum of 5-7 years of related fulltime work experience

Experience with financial reporting and forecasting in an FP&A environment, including analyzing financial statements and corporate results

Experience with financial valuation modeling will be an advantage

Knowledge of the secondary mortgage market, Freddie Mac’s financial statements and business practices, Dodd Frank Stress Testing (DFAST), and the Enterprise Regulatory Capital Framework (ERCF)

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Sharp analytical / quantitative and technical abilities; must have advanced proficiency in Excel

Background in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly valued

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $113,000 - $169,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
